January has seen more spice been added to the African Chef range ! The delicious 'curry ketchup' with African and Indian spices makes a tasty treat to liven up any dinner table, it has taken a few years to perfect. Even the local fish and Chip shop has given it the thumbs up!

We have also entered the 2013 homemade 'Dalemain Marmalade Festival Awards' and have fine tuned the art of orange peeling! We think we've come up with a very special recipe and a few special ingredients to add 'The African Chef' twist. Our new three fruit marmalade has been infused lightly with cinnamon, star anise, baobab fruit powder, and cloves . Last year we picked up a merit for our baobab marmalade so we've improved the recipe and hope it does even better this year. Who knows but it was really fun making them and having the kitchen wafting with the citrus scent of oranges, lemons and limes!

The African Chef braved the freezing temperatures at the Totnes Farmers Market this month. There wasn't a huge turn out, but we still managed to sell well!

The following week the African Chef was at the Dartington shops "Good food Sunday" and another very cold day - Roll on spring ! :)

We are happy to welcome Greenlife Healthfood Store as our first retail stockist, we are also preparing new order for a delicatessen in Brixham and some of the products will soon be available at Stoneman's Delicatessen' Newton Abbot Indoor Market as well. Keep an eye on the 'News' page for sampling days.

This month we have worked with the Totnes European School to run work experience placements with French Students. There is always plenty to do in a small business from Manufacturing, Marketing, Labelling, Packaging, Retailing, working with customers/suppliers and Administration. This month Corentin has helped with working on the business administration, writing blogs and taking calls! We are looking forward to continuing this programme in the months ahead.
