The African Chef

Yozuna, established in 2007, is the UK’s first and foremost manufacturer of African baobab fruit products.Yozuna" shortened from 'yonzuna' in the language of the Ngoni people of Zambia, means "It's sweet!” These were the words shouted by cousins of Malcolm Riley(aka The African Chef) , Yozuna’s founder, when they tried his baobab jam.

Whilst visiting a Women's Co-operative in Chipata, Zambia, Malcolm was introduced to the versatility and nutritional value of baobab, which was given to children with HIV due to its unique properties.

Baobab fruit is now recognised as the King of Super-fruits and Yozuna believes in supplying you with most competitive price of ethical and sustainably haversted Baobab.

Yozuna believes trade can make a real difference. We are dedicated to developing fair trade with small independent businesses, farmers, and co-operatives but also in helping preserving endangered wildlife in Africa.

So with each purchase you make will not only improve your health but you can help make a real difference to the lives of poor families in remote rural areas of Southern Africa.

The income these people earn from harvesting baobab often changes their lives and enables them to afford the things we take for granted like healthcare and education.

Life is sweet when we have Baobab jam, sweeter when we have something to work for and sweeter still when we can be proud of what we do.
