I just love this recipe, its quick, simple, healthy and delicious.
The key to this super tasty red cabbage, is the complex blend of aromatic spices in our Baobab Balsamic Vinegar from rosehip, to hibiscus, to ginger, cinnamon, ground coriander, caraway, and much more, which makes all the difference.
A must have product for your kitchen and what you need to finish this super spiced Zulu Cabbage inspired side dish.
Ingredients:
1 Medium Red Cabbage
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Birdseye Chilli Flakes
1 tablespoon Sunflower Oil
Generous splash of The African Chef - Baobab Balsamic Vinegar
1 tsp Plain Yoghurt
1 Pinch Black Onion Seeds
Zest of Lemon (Optional to finish)
Method:
Peel the outer leaves from red cabbage. Slice in half and remove the hard base. Finely slice the cabbage and add to a pan of warmed sunflower oil. Add the salt and chilli flakes. Stir and seal with a lid cooking for approximately 8-12 minutes. Add a generous splash of Baobab Balsamic Vinegar and replace the lid, simmer for 2-3 mins on low heat.
Serve and finish topped with plain yoghurt, sprinkle of onion seeds and pinch of grated zest of lemon.
